The recent conflict between Russia and Ukraine has increased the risks of inflation and expectations of higher prices for the world economy.
The world’s stock markets are looking worried as the rise in commodity prices has been evident. At the moment, the closest sectors are already experiencing the ravages of this serious situation.
The increase in energy prices such as diesel, gasoline, as well as different essential inputs for manufacturing, increases the challenges for the supply chain of different companies. It should be noted that the barrel of oil, as a result of the problem between Russia and Ukraine, has exceeded the barrier of 100usd. This increase is what has unleashed a domino effect, starting with the increase in the cost of essential inputs for many sectors, thus unleashing an increase in operating costs.
The transportation industry is not exempt from these effects, being affected mainly by the inevitable increase in fuel. This could mean a slowdown in the development of the sector, holding back investment for the development, improvement and/or updating and increase of fleets and operating equipment and, therefore, reducing the capacity to meet market demand.
